I can’t figure it out, can you?
In the end why would NDSU move? Nobody has ever explained that, in my mind the FBS is a huge step down: from division king to division chump. There’s no upside. CFP forget it. The NDSUs of the FBS world are going to be delt out.
Better schedule? Lots of sunbelt OOC. SOS will rule the roost and NDSU won’t have it.
few FBS cities are worth the visit. Nashville is a cesspool. that’s a drawback for the FCS.
The money? I don’t think its there. NDSUs football budget might go up. The cash shortfall surely will. The Bison would hit the ground broke.
NDSUs administrative ambitions seem absent as well. Outside of the inside information provided by Lakes from the big donors, it seems there was very little to no FBS ambition shown. Other sports factories, ie, Sacramento, yes wait for it …. State, certainly has no qualms about advertising their ambitions.
Cal Davis didn’t take the FBS offer but joined all other sports. They were better situated than NDSU to take on FBS football but didn’t. They have the proverbial market and they seemingly have the money. Maybe they have the same insights as NDSU which is very good at other things: FCS FOOTBALL
