Hawaii should run. Wyo gives up 210 yds rushing/game. Then pass.

The Lobos defense should put a wet blanket over States plans for their in-state rival

The GAM expects Georgia State and Oregon State to triumph

Air Force on the strength of the time consuming option should prevail over an average UNR

Akron, in game of the week, has scored more this season. That gives them an edge in what could be a wide open exciting game.

Bison are on the CFP radar, the BIN boys say an 11% chance.

The Bison arrived FBS ready. The difference from FCS competition: FBS teams have avoided the blow-out. Fewer weak spots, more depth.

Tickets remain for the last 3 home games. It’s still hard to say why. Wyoming faces a home coming sell-out and the other 3, basically FCS quality, are close.

New Mexico and NDSU are obvious early favorites for the conference championship game. A win in New Mexico could bring that game to Fargo. Little early for that kind of talk but the week off gives us time to look ahead. When I do it’s the only possible loss I see in a season still full of challenges.

Football is a measure of efficiency. Teams give up or get yds resulting in corresponding points. Some do it better than others

large numbers better for offense small numbers for defense

This MWC rant points out how overall terrible the MWC is. 1 undefeated team and only 2 with winning records. He has NDSU, UNLV, Air Force and possibly New Mexico going to the Pac 12. Is the CFP possible from the MWC?

The entry fee was high , the first step not very big, the future open and upwardly mobile. The MWC might not be the future.

Not sure I got all games

Big 10: 0-2

FCS: 3-3

Pac: 0-2

AC: 0-1

Big 12: 0-1

CUSA; 0-1

MAC: 1-1

SEC: 0-1

SB: 1-0

Thats the MWC record the CFP committee sees today: 2 OCC FBS wins 3-3 FCS. That should be 6-0. SOS will be a real detriment with the CFP committee.

It’s the first year with the new conference. A new pecking order for the old bottom dwellers. It’s early. Teams are getting better. Nothing should be assumed, but it looks like NDSU could go undefeated. That might draw the interest, if the winning ways continue, to a better paying conference.

In the meantime Go Bison!!!

In last weekend’s small college action:
  • Northern State lost their first game to undefeated Mankato. The Mavericks had about 100 total yds more than Northern. Except for Mankatos 28 pt 2nd Qtr it was pretty even.
  • Jamestown was overwhelmed by Wayne State 44-7 in front of a couple thousand Nebraska fans.
  • Und2, out of their element in the FBS, struggled mightily in their money game vs the Cornhuskers 34-7.
  • Sioux Falls traveled to Bismarck St Mary’s winning a wild one 40-34. Decent crowd of 1,900+ at UMD Stadium in Bismarck.

This is an interesting site. They rank NDSU #17 providing a full graphical comparison of some pretty interesting statistics. They also provide a point-by-point summation. NDSUs main rap is weak schedule.

New Mexico gets a #63. Their offense can be completely shut down
