That requirement may present a problem large enough to stall the merger. That’s the glimmer of hope, but the FBS may, at this time, be a fools errand. It’s hard to tell.
It’s clear the MWC isn’t afraid of NDSU at least not because they are good at football. They may be afraid of NDSU for other reasons but be sure, if NDSU doesn’t go,
the money wasn’t there. Also,
- There is no FBs background so no scheduling bonus. NDSU doesn’t get Norte Dame
- The stadium size is locked in. No upside
- Sponsorships don’t pay as well as larger markets
- Advertising rates are higher in larger markets
- There is concrete room for growth in larger markets
- Other
That doesn't make it impossible, it just makes it more difficult. Are we afraid of the difficult path? Because if we are afraid because it's too difficult I may need to get behind a different team.
