Unreliable external sources have informed me that we can expect Northern Arizona, New Mexico State, and NDSU to join the conference in 2027. It's going to be wild!

Huge step down from the powerful MVFC and the growing FCS.

WARNING: Dose of reality:

Why the PAC 12 will never get an AQ into the CFP. The MWC isn’t in the conversation.

Not to NDSUs scale.

Schools must submit a letter of application for membership to the MWC. When we see that your unreliable source will be confirmed.

Nonesense.

you have given the world is a great gift. For years Bison Forum members, knowledgeable fans and others have enjoyed a superior, college level analysis of the weeks important games.

The GAM brings the receipts! I remember being told, contrary to the uncanny accuracy of the GAM analysis, the natty was going to be an easy win for MSU.

That’s why the accredited Bison Forum is already FBS in the college football on-line network. It leads the way in football insights, game analysis and prognostications. It delivers the goods in a reality based look at the FBS.

It may not be the funniest but it delivers college level game analysis with uncompromised accuracy and insight.

I just heard from Ahrefs that Augusta is still looking at the MVFC. They have a great team & winning tradition. Their budget is less than half MVFC average, their stadium is pretty small but in the Sioux Falls market they have a big following. All they need is a fair share of the conference money.

Just like the Mountain West and FCS?

QUESTION FROM AI:

Maybe Mankato or St Thomas would be more accurate?

Augustana would struggle to win any conference games in the Valley. God Bless 'em for their aspirations, and maybe they can walk that path and grow the program? But it would be a long uphill path. Nestled halfway between Brookville & Vermintown they would struggle with local recruiting. I think Mankato or St Thomas would be better suited to be competitive quicker,

NEWS

Mountain West Announces New Media Rights Package in Collaboration with CBS Sports, FOX Sports, The CW Network, and Kiswe

https://themw.com/news/2026/02/03/mount ... d-kiswe-2/

It’s a maintenance contract. Moneys tight. 3.5M for core members coming from media and conference resources. Nothing for expansion.

ESPN+ is for me better than the announced media arrangement.
The partnerships with CBS Sports, FOX Sports, The CW Network, and Kiswe represent the broadest media distribution plan in the Conference’s history, delivering unprecedented national linear visibility coupled with a creative and comprehensive digital presence,”
Kind of sounds like an over-thought resume.

Kiswe sounds interesting.
The Mountain West will also launch an enhanced direct-to-consumer streaming service in July 2026, developed in partnership with Kiswe. The new platform will complement the Conference’s linear television agreements and will be the exclusive streaming platform for all athletics content across all 21 Conference-sponsored sports that are not distributed on national linear television.
Forcing the hand to buy their media products makes NDSU athletics less accessible.
