Your article is from last fall. Things have changed.

Because the company was taken private in 2022 nobody really knows what it’s worth especially considering its synergy with the other Musk companies. We know Fidelity reported losing money by selling X during a major reorganization when value was certainly lower than today. We also know fidelity only owned a portion of the company.

Here is something more current. It shows value for the company as a whole, with lender input:

“Bloomberg on Wednesday reported that X is in talks to raise money that would value the company at $44 billion

The valuations being used are most certainly based on the income approach. Income is improving greatly with major advertisers that left during the uncertainty of reorganization returning to the platform. With growing revenues and a reported positive cash flow for the first time ever, the value has increased. Current lender negotiations are the best indicator.

Apple Amazon, Disney, Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery, and IBM all have returned to advertising on X since fidelity sold. This increase in revenues also increases overall business value. Whomever bought fidelities share got a nice bargain.
