Last week weaker teams started to show up. UTEP opened up their game. Weaker competition but UTEP kept them from achieving their average game.
NDSU looked unbeatable but the Cadets never quit. Many typical FCS teams do. The ones that don’t quit know in their hearts how good they can be.
New Mexico continued to roll doing what good teams do against weaker competition. Some of their statistics are very good, unsustainable I believe over the season.
In determining final scores Some stats were adj from season Avgs to reflect to a more typical level. The adj stats are shown above.

Last weekends area action included small colleges too
- University Sioux Falls 29 MSU Moorhead 28
JUNIOR BOWL of the WEEK NEWS:
Certainly game of the week in area Jr Bowl action, University Sioux Falls has made a name for themselves in both Grand Forks and now the Fargo area with the win over MSU Moorhead.
The year after Sioux Falls beat und2 the fighting Hawks had a chance to hire Kalen Doboer but figured “bubba” was the way to go! Looks like Sioux Falls isn’t letting up.
Valley city had the week off

Visited the campus in early summer. Nice. Good looking stadium too. Talked big about going to a game but never did. They travel to Mankato next week, if I have it correct, the old NCC foe often mentioned in desperation as a Summit addition. Bad idea. Should be a good game. many years ago in Mankato I saw the Bison give up a 21 pt lead and lose.

Since 1988 Sac State has avoided the Bison. Big reason being they simply weren’t good enough to meet the Herd in the playoffs. Probably didn’t return calls either.

Raw statistics show UNM as a favorite. It’s unlikely unless the New Mexico pass defense has a much better than average day and they get the running game going.
They may get overwhelmed athletically/physically but Coach Eck knows what it takes. If UNM can manage an average day OK is going to have trouble covering. If UNM has a great day they can win.
