THE OPENER. ON THE ROAD
https://citadelsports.com/sports/football

All time NDSU vs CITADEL: never played

They have their 9th practice today. Spring game April 16

2024 Record

Here is the early look. From the GAM

Game statistics adjusted for loss of Cam Miller. He was one of the great Winning BISON Quarterbacks all-time. He made it a pleasure to watch the game

Citadel allowed 1.1 points for every point they scored. This doesn’t bode well for them

Citadel 2024 record shows a middle of the pack FCS squad. It’s the opener with a new NDSU QB. Enough reason to watch, if not the only reason.

Expect a weaker Abilene Christian.

Big unanswered questions: NDSU Quarterback. Overall impression: BISON STACKED

Early prognostication: I’m expecting a rout. BISON to win and cover. Expect money line odds say NDSU +1500. Put up $1,500 to win $100. Odds will make it tough for NDSU fans trying for the car payment. One of the most exciting bets in football is BISON TO COVER. This one could be another exciting afternoon trying to cover the 25 pt spread. They better make it 40 if the Herd comes out smoking.

After Week 1: NDSU 1-0

Bye week in the virtual off season gives us a chance to look at NDSU’s #1 competitor:

More coaching changes

Adding seats

Generally looking good. Can they replace Tommy Mellott? Can the Bison replace Cam Miller?

Without Cam the GAM shows the National Championship might have been 30-17 MSU.

Here’s some news on their spring practice

Game 2 on the road again

Welcome to Nashville! Good scouting trip for potential natty game.

NDSU/TSU record.

The Tigers were 9-4 and co-champions of the Big South/OVC.

From 1999-2011, TSU played home games at Nissan Stadium. The Tigers returned to the 10,000 seat Hale Stadium in 2012 and now apparently play home games at both locations. All home games were in Nissan last year. Not sure where The Bison will play, most likely Nissan.

Nissan Stadium is the home of the NFL Tennessee Titans. capacity 69,143

Highest Tigers attendance in 2024 was 10,715 Lowest 1,843. Avg: 5,159. Not sure if they will confine fans to certain areas or let them roam

a playoff team last year they lost to Montana 41-27. The GAM predicted 28-26 Montana. Similar to TSU Montana was a low scoring team but proved to be too much easily covering the spread.

The Tigers Lost 38 Seniors, graduate students and redshirt seniors.
Didn’t see any spring practice news.

For this simulation The Bison passing game was upgraded from last place vs The Citadel to average in the MVFC.

This virtual season is helping me get things set-up for next season. Getting some insights too. Main one being if NDSU can reload at QB and keep things at least average for the other replacements there won’t be much guess work for these OOC games.

TSU like The Citadel play at a lower level of football. TSU was the 2024 Big South/OVC co-champions. The Tigers avg 335 yds/game scoring 348 points.. Bison avg 391yds/game scoring 610 points. One is not like the other.

Not as pronounced it’s the same on defense, approx same yds given up but TSU gives up more points
They are good among their peers but only well coached against The Herd. They put 27 up on Montana so they improved a little from their Fargo debut.

Expect a pretty big spread and unfavorable odds. Game might not get listed. This could be another Bison To Cover exciting week. Bison -20? Better make it Bison -35 if they come out hot.

Week 2: BISON 2-0

Brown was a good Bison running back, 7th in yds/game MVFC.

Top Bison rusher in 2024:

For pre-season prognostication Browns departure will cost the Bison 35 yds/game.

Anybody know What kind of money will he get?
