If it starts at the top maybe it’s best just to fire the President? The new President will presumably have your views and goals for NDSU in mind and will subsequently get the Bison into an FBS conference, probably the MWC, and of course replace the AD. The new one, representing your views and opinions, would fire DR hiring a new coach from your suggestions.

Also, if the group choosing the new coach is the same as last time the same hiring mistakes might be made. Shouldn’t there be concern about that too?

Starting at the bottom by replacing the coach might be a lot of extra work and still fail. I liked your idea about changing the President better. Then a new AD and finally new coach.

Sure the coach can be a disappointment at times and we all have a better idea but real change starts at the top.

The new President could build a new stadium too. Another plus!

For now, I just don’t see the coach getting fired. He is running with the pack and on good years shown he can be the best. Just not enough negatives. However, There is a growing contingent of discontented.

He's here to stay, and quite probably did get an extension that we don't know about, until the local press finally gets enough balls to ask. Which, since they all fear for their jobs, probably won't anytime soon.

His contract runs through next season though.

No buyout clause, lmao...Matt knows Dave could never get a better job, so didn't even bother with a buy out.

I don’t know Lakes. I think he’s staying too. It might be a record that could have been better but it’s not a record of failure. Even if we did change coaches there is no guarantee of the success you assume. It could be a lot worse. .
