Re: MWC
Major programs in any college sports division have a lot of PUD games. NDSU is a major program in the FCS with a lot of PUD games. What’s new, there were a lot of PUD games in D2 as well.
In the FBS NDSU is PUD. They haven’t beaten an FBS team since before the United States was overtly taken over by Marxist elements. NDSU is so PUD I can recall some Bison fans proclaiming some FBS conferences were beneath the Bison, NDSU and certainly some of its fans. Those statements look a little out of step now.
NIU might not happen, who knows. If NDSU does get the invite it might not be the correct choice. Nobody has ever shown where the additional 10-20 million yearly is coming from. The MWC doesn’t have it. The NDSU budget doesn’t show it. There aren’t enough empty seats to sell, so where is the money?
Do sponsors suddenly fork it over because we moved football to the FBS? Does it matter if all we can schedule are PUD FBS teams: the sunbelt, MAC and PUD MWC teams? Do they raise the value of all those new sponsorships 10-20 million? Do advertising rates go up to match bigger markets? How do the media deals get any better than they are now?
The only indication we are given is a statement that NDSU wants to compete at the highest level. Maybe this is it?
It boils down to markets and resources. NDSU and Fargo may be on the verge of competing with the Dkalbs but apparently aren’t there yet. Maybe it will happen someday but it seems more likely we will see more programs step up like the Dakotas and Montana, making our division more interesting.
NDSU has moved up a little though. They are in the conversation now.

Re: MWC
What is the MWC thinking? A solid 108 team in NIU or a solid top 50 in NDSU and/or SDSU?
What about the greed mongers in FBS leadership positions raiding other conferences of their members while insisting the devastated conferences should not look to the FCS? They are the first ones to snub your nose at.

Re: MWC
This is the newest article I found on Tarleton joining the MWC One from early November was behind a pay wall. Otherwise nothing new.

Tarleton State is primed for success should they transition to FBS

https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2 ... ion-to-fbsI was skeptical when I first heard that Tarleton was interested in moving to Division I in 2018. When I drove around Memorial Stadium in late August, I saw Dr. Hurley’s vision becoming a reality. This isn’t the Tarleton of 2018. This school is ready to compete for supremacy in a Group of Six conference.

Northern Illinois reportedly set to join Mountain West as football-only member
North Dakota State was reportedly "considered" for the Mountain West as a football-only member at one point this past fall.

Re: MWC
Al Gore used to brag he was once the nations next President
NDSU fans can now brag they were once the nations next FBS move-up, which is nice.
It will be a powerful bragging right in the future tailgate lots at Mankato (yes) State and Ferris (yes)State when they finally get the MVFC/Summit invite.
That invite is long overdue. For those fans not excited about the potential of these new members, please keep in mind that NDSU looked just as attractive to the MWC et al.
