Nothing so far. Maybe Monday. No texts Lakes? What’s going on?

Looking at the signs the MWC deal looks but not yet closed. The move makes sense. The evidence for the money has never, to my knowledge, been presented. If they move ahead it must be there, both the huge entry fees and the huge annual cost increases. It hasn’t been for a lot of teams making big bets on the future.

For the short run NDSU loses a lot. We all hope for long term success. There seems to be a whole lot to gain.

Game day excitement will return. No doubt Bison fans were growing complacent. The MWC is not a juggernaut. I’m afraid complacency may return sooner than most think, unfortunately there won’t be a playoff run for the second season.

Maybe they are telling the team steady as she goes? Maybe they will be doing a transition speech? We find out tomorrow.

Either way, Im hoping for the best. It will certainly be an exciting change. It’s also a big challenge for NDSU and the new generation of Bison fans carrying the load. Here’s to the future and what’s best for NDSU.

It’s super Sunday! The Bison join the Mountain West Conference!

An FCS powerhouse is reportedly moving up in the college football world.

ESPN's Pete Thamel reported North Dakota State will join the Mountain West in football only starting with the upcoming 2026 season. It will have to pay the NCAA $5 million to move to the FBS and an additional $12 million to join the conference.

CBS Sports' Brandon Marcello noted North Dakota State has been quite public in its "desire to move to the FBS level" with athletic director Matt Larsen and outgoing university president David Cook leading the way.
Larsen previously said the program's interest in such a move was "as strong as it's ever been."

Great look at the pros and cons hours before the move.

It’s a win but questions remain. These guys have a good balanced future outlook with an historical perspective.

NDSU & MWC football schedules are down. Most MWC school schedules incomplete or down.

All FCS games off the table.

These are exciting times. There seems to be a feeling a few other schools will follow - SDSU, the Montana’s?

Maybe we get a schedule at tomorrow’s announcement?

What great job Matt Larsen and President Cook have done. Contrary to those demanding they be fired, they have been negotiating successfully for some time. I’m also impressed with the MWC getting the 12 million. I think they will make good allies.

I'd give way more credit to Cook than ML.
But thats just me.

ML had a chance to make the move to FBS years ago when it was way less expensive, but did not. Now, that could have been a Brescani thing too, but ML should have had the balls to stand up to him.

Cook will be missed dearly and is a legend for supporting this.
