Greatest game I’ve seen in a long time. They laughed, they cried

OT. Redbirds XP blocked. Had MSU 4th and goal.

What a game.

We had upset in mind. We bet the upset. The GAM profiled The game perfectly. We finish the season FCS side up $1,150~.

GAM had Redbirds +4. Vegas spread 10.5! Exactly the kind of mistake the GAM was designed to uncover. That made the attractive ML upset picks possible so it was all on the OU which has gotten much better.

Thank you Las Vegas!!! The Ironwood and Canopy Inn will thank you as well.

Contrary to Lakes promise, NDSU hasn’t announced yet. Probably watched this game, saw the crowd and came to their senses. The future of FCS is bigger and brighter than ever. Did you see the FBS payroll structure by position?

Never-The-Less The Bison Forum is Moving up! Among other benefits all Bison Forum football analysis credits (now including 500 level!) will be transferable to any of the well known and respected on-line universities. Good people.

God willing in 2026 we will track the FCS top 10 and a few FBS games. They are hard to figure.

Boost for the Redbirds program. UND will be jealous and hungry. NDSU will remain stunned. Fans the world over will peer into the future waiting for the next “Text”. The Border Marker is safe, The rest of the MVFC is on notice. The Division is on notice. The FCS is changing. They opted-in. Tonight was the first step into the new bigger, brighter FCS future.

Sour grapes are understandable. The Bison weren’t the best team in the country. Bison fans weren’t there for them and tonight’s game felt like a liberation and huge step forward for the FCS.

Really happy for MSU. Deserving ball club. If I’m the MWC I call them. If they are smart they say no.

The Redbird run was spectacular. Their season deceptively good. Their fans hopefully awakening. Everyone had a good time tonight. FCS has changed.

It’s good to know hope Walz, the disgraced governors daughter, is a distiguished graduate of Montana State. She earned her degree in women’s studies. The degree required some math!

ATTENDANCE: 24,105. Impressive!

Bison football is fine. The fan base is broken. NDSU needs new fans. I see fans wanting FBS running the FCS down like they were from UND. It kills enthusiasm. 10,000 was not a good FBS look. Why so few when MSU averaged 20,000?

great crowd, great game. Sour grapes from some NDSU fans sounds like Iowa fans after the Bison upset. Is NDSU ready to climb the new, big FCS mountain? With one eye on FBS, disinterested fans and shrinking enrollment make it a dangerous pipe dream. College football is getting hard to find.

FCS has opted-in. Times are changing. Assets being directed into larger budgets. NDSU remains a factor but is now just in the mix. Can’t wait to see Yale, the 27 time defending national champs, next year. They were just gearing up. Stood up to the champs pretty well

Lots of experts only 1 GAM!

Lots of good teams building. Next year will be interesting.

CAN THE FCS SURVIVE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALLS NEW WORLD?

Yes. This guy is talking sense. It has to be United and marketed correctly. It is a very good alternative to the power conferences version of college football. Fun, exciting and entertaining football with a growing following.

Bison fans take note: Over the past 5 years FCS average football spending has increased 29%, NDSU 6%. The Division is catching up.

Redbirds defeat of The Bison was no fluke. The 2025 Redbirds were an excellent football team that improved all season long. Statistically they thrashed Montana State, the FCS champions but not the best team. Just the undisputed winner.

At best I would give the Bison a #3 ranking now without a bullet. There are more deserving FCS programs on an upward trajectory more worthy of that designation. NDSU has its FCS hands full. If not familiar with the resale market I don’t recommend NDSU fans buying tickets to Nashville yet.

Heard the Montana schools met with the Mountain West officials yesterday. Since I’m not a journalist I don’t need 2 sources here and can just throw it out into the universe.

No idea if this means anything is likely or imminent. Just that they met.

They have presumably talked to NDSU (SDSU TOO?). If true, they are obviously trying to assemble a new MWC division filling in the FBS void of the Dakotas and Montana. Haven’t heard a thing about Idaho but probably included.

IMHO this is the only feasible way. In some ways a step up but not into the big leagues, just the FBS light. Lots of peer institutions.

It’s getting interesting.
